Social facilities in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory switched from “satellite” to high-speed “optics”

Rostelecom connected schools, community centers, village councils and medical and obstetric centers in villages and towns of the Krasnoyarsk Territory to wired high-speed Internet: Kolmogorovo, Nazimovo, Novonazimovo, Sergeevo, Nizhneshadrino, Fomka, Yartsevo, Krivlyak and Nikulino.

Residents of the northern territories of the Krasnoyarsk Territory now have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of digitalization.

Previously, socially significant objects were connected to the Network via satellite channels. Before the advent of the fiber-optic line, such a technical solution was optimal – it provided a reliable signal and data transmission. Thanks to the built cable lines, the provider was able to significantly increase the speed and quality of the Internet connection. In addition, the optics are more efficient in terms of operation, as they are more durable and require less maintenance.

“Rostelecom is implementing this large-scale project together with the regional Ministry of Digital Development. In 2024, we laid 230 km of cable along the Yenisei, this year – 216. In the coming months, settlements even more remote from the regional capital – Zotino, Vorogovo, Indygino and Bor – will be connected to the optical Internet,” said Alexey Usatov, director of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Rostelecom.

In addition to government and social facilities, the company is expanding digital infrastructure in private homes. Residents of the village of Nazimovo and the village of Novonazimovo already use broadband Internet, Wink interactive television and smart video surveillance systems.

“The construction of a fiber-optic communication line is being implemented at the expense of the regional and federal budgets. This project will enable almost eight thousand residents of the region to gain access to high-speed Internet and modern digital services, which will have a positive impact on the development of the economy and social sphere, as well as increase the comfort and safety of the population,” said Nikolai Raspopin, Minister of Digital Development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
