Kosovo Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci noted on Friday that the Serbian authorities' claims about arming themselves to defend themselves against neighboring countries are baseless and that by purchasing Chinese weapons they are showing “hegemonic tendencies” towards these countries. In a statement provided to Radio Free Europe, Maqedonci recalled that Belgrade has been purchasing weapons from Russia and China for several years, therefore “it is not related to any current threat to Serbia.”

“None of Serbia's neighboring countries have at any time demonstrated aggressive intentions against this country,” Maqedonci said, adding that Serbia is making territorial claims against Kosovo.
