According to the florist, in the fall the first thing you need to do is clean the orchid leaves from dirt and insects. To do this, you will need 50 ml of water and the juice of one lemon – squeeze it into the water and mix.
“With the onset of autumn, our summer orchids gradually stop blooming, the flowers begin to fade, and the leaves fall off. In this case, we need to increase care so that the orchids bloom again. The first thing to do in the fall is to cut off the flower stalks that have completed flowering,” said the blogger. “If you want your orchids to produce flower stalks, they must have healthy leaves.”
To do this, the author of the video advised to wipe the leaves of the plants on both sides with prepared lemon water. This procedure must be repeated every week.
After hygiene of the leaves, the orchid needs to be placed in a cool place for four days to awaken it. The blogger noted that indoor orchids “do not notice” seasonal changes, and after these manipulations they will begin to actively lay down new flower stalks after two weeks.
