In the Talsko-Garevsky reserve of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a badger was caught in the lens of a camera trap, the directorate for specially protected natural areas reported.

The video, shot with a camera trap, shows the animal grooming its fur while sitting in a clearing directly in front of the camera. In the background one could see a moose, which did not react in any way to the “neighbor”.

“Badgers are fairly clean animals, which is evident not only in their grooming, but also in their love of cleaning. Animal families regularly hold clean-up days in their burrows and even specially set up “latrines” away from home,” the directorate said.

In the fall, badgers prepare for hibernation by actively fattening up. Among mustelids, which also include sable and ermine, they are the only ones that fall into winter sleep.
