“An additional section with a red signal in the form of an equilateral cross (“plus”) will be installed at the traffic light. The experiment is being implemented as part of Road Safety Week and its goal is to increase safety when making a left-hand turn,” the CP said.
The center says that turning on this signal means that oncoming traffic has stopped and the driver can turn left more safely. So, the “Greek Cross” signal does not prohibit movement, but confirms the possibility of maneuver, since the oncoming traffic is currently standing still.
The experiment will last two months. During this period, enterprise specialists will evaluate the effectiveness of the new system.
Road users are invited to share their feedback in the comments on the official CP pages on social networks.
