Unique images on the Olt Valley. The drivers stopped to clear the road of stones that had fallen from the slopes

Falling stones created problems again on Valea Oltului, Sunday morning. In the absence of an immediate intervention by the authorities, several drivers mobilized spontaneously and freed the road from the fallen boulders themselves.

On Sunday morning, on a section of DN7, in the area of Brezoi city, several stones came off the slopes and ended up on the roadway, a frequent phenomenon on one of the busiest roads in the country. Before long, traffic slowed and drivers had to pull over.

The video images sent to the Council Tower by a witness to the event capture the moment when the traffic participants mobilize to clear the road. About 10-15 people, drivers and passengers alike, get out of their cars and start manually picking up the stones scattered on the road. People bend down, pick up boulders, small or large, and throw them out of the way to allow traffic to resume.

Contacted by local journalists, IPJ Vâlcea representatives stated that during the day there were no reports of new rockfalls, but they specified that, during the night, the hiking teams would have intervened in the area.

“However, it was not a difficult situation that prevented traffic”, the authorities sent.
