The Petromidia Năvădari and Vega Ploiești refineries enter a scheduled technological overhaul for 20 days
Rompetrol Rafinare, a member company of the KMG International Group (Rompetrol), is suspending the operational activity of the Petromidia Năvodari and Vega Ploiești refineries, in order to carry out the scheduled intermediate technological overhaul, at the beginning of March, for a period of approximately 20 days.

The technological shutdown is carried out on the basis of a calendar, with general revisions scheduled at 4-year intervals and technological shutdowns carried out at 2-year intervals, for intermediate works.
“The works scheduled for this period will target inspections and reauthorizations of production units and operational flows, in accordance with the legislation in force. Also, equipment cleaning works, preventive checks or replacement of some elements, such as catalysts, will be carried out, with the aim of maintaining and increasing production yields, ensuring product quality and safe and efficient operation, both for employees and for the environment”according to an information from Rompetrol.
The works will be carried out by Rominserv, the general contractor of the KMGI Group, with the support of other companies specialized in this sector.
The revision of the two refineries is carried out simultaneously, considering that the Vega refinery operates with finished and semi-finished materials from Petromidia Năvodari.
Throughout this period, the company will continue to honor its contractual obligations, deliveries of petroleum products to customers will be ensured from its own stocks or with the support of the trading division of the KMGI Group.
The significant shareholders of Rompetrol Rafinare SA are KMG International (54.63% – directly and indirectly) and the Romanian State through the Ministry of Energy (44.7%).
