The German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius on Monday detailed Berlin's plan to send additional support to Ukraine, a country that for almost three and a half years struggled against Russian forces, the German press agency reports.

During the 29th meeting of the contact group for the defense of Ukraine at the defense ministers, held in London on Monday, Boris Pistorius said that Germany funds the purchase of long-range drones made in Ukraine.

“The drones will destroy aircraft, drones and Russian rockets on the ground before they threaten Ukraine, its cities or its infrastructure,” he said, according to Agerpres.

“The first of the systems funded by Germany will be delivered to the Ukrainian armed forces in the coming days and can be held immediately,” the German minister added.

Regarding American Patriotic Anti -Racket, Pistorius mentioned that Ukraine needs five such additional systems to defend the air bombings made by Russian forces.

Germany has promised to deliver Kiev two Patriot systems to the United States.

The initial plan of Berlin was to buy two systems from the US, each at a price of about 1 billion euros, and to deliver them directly to Ukraine.

However, as these systems are not yet available, Germany will deliver two of the nine patriotic systems in its army and will subsequently replace them with the systems it will receive from the US.
