All three elements – gallium, germanium and antimony – are used, among others. for the production of semiconductors.

The suspension of the ban is valid from Sunday until November 27, 2026, the ministry said in a statement. The ministry announced the ban in December 2024.

The ministry also suspended more stringent end-user and end-use controls on exports of dual-use graphite to the United States that were introduced with the ban.

China on Friday announced the suspension of other export controls imposed on October 9, including expanded restrictions on certain rare earth minerals and lithium battery materials.

Chinese leader Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump previously agreed to cut tariffs and suspend other trade measures for a year. (PAP)
