Suspicious shipment at an American military base. Several people were taken to hospital


According to information provided by Andrews Military Base, the building and an adjacent facility were evacuated after an employee opened a suspicious package. A cordon was established around the area and paramedics from Andrews Air Force Base were dispatched to the scene. The services did not detect any immediate threat, but the case was transferred to the Office of Special Investigations, which is conducting an investigation.

According to sources cited by CNN, the shipment contained an unknown white powder. People who came into contact with the package were taken to Malcolm Grove Medical Center, a hospital located on the base. Initial tests conducted by the HAZMAT team did not reveal the presence of hazardous substances, but the investigation is still ongoing. The HAZMAT team completed operations on site Thursday evening.
