Strong magnetic storms hit the Earth

6 November 14:02
Magnetic storms of a planetary scale were recorded on Earth around midnight Moscow time, it was reported today V Laboratory of Solar Astronomy IKI and ISPZ.
Currently, the geomagnetic Kp index is in the range of G2 to G3, that is, moderate to severe storms.
Scientists say that the reason for what is happening is known and quite unpleasant:
“Plasma emissions came to Earth from the very first flares that occurred 2-3 days ago, when the active centers were still at the very edge of the Sun and, according to the forecast from this position, had no chance of affecting the planet at all. This means that plasma clouds are now ejected not radially, but in an initial displacement towards the Earth, and in addition, they have noticeably larger propagation angles and velocities than previously assumed in calculations. This leads to rather pessimistic thoughts about forecast for tomorrow. The storm and disturbances will last about a day, and, most likely, will not stop at all, since tomorrow they will simply go into the main phase, when the main masses of ejected plasma will begin to arrive to the Earth, triggering even stronger geomagnetic processes.”
Let us remind you that geomagnetic disturbances can provoke minor disruptions in the operation of energy systems, as well as negatively affect the well-being of weather-dependent people and those suffering from chronic diseases. Also during magnetic storms There is an increase in injuries and accidents in transport and production. Drivers may experience a significant slowdown in reaction, increasing the risk of an accident.
During solar flares, doctors recommend, if possible, eliminating physical activity, giving up bad habits and walking more in the fresh air.
