Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz: I see the impatience of Donald Trump

Speaking of help for Ukraine, the head of the Ministry of National Defense said that the moment came for this country to start buying equipment produced in Poland in cooperation with the USA.
During the conversation after Tuesday's meeting with the head of the Pentagon Pete HegeSthem, Kosiniak-Kamysz assessed that he felt that the attitude of Trump's administration to Russia was changing. He recalled Trump's entries in social media, in which the US president assessed that “Putin went crazy” and that “Igra with fire”.
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz: Donald Trump showed good will towards Putin
– I see impatience. I see this in the words of President Trump, with whom I agree that Putin is crazy. I think that President Trump has already demonstrated very far -reaching good will and patience with him, but this time ends. That's how I pick it up – said the deputy prime minister. He admitted that Trump had already threatened Russia, among others sanctions, but he has not yet done so.
Kosiniak-Kamysz said that he talked to HegeSthe about new sanctions for Russia and assessed that they are “on the table.” – And you need to conduct such an analysis. The United States will certainly meticulously conduct such an analysis – he assessed.
When asked if he expected further support for Ukraine by the USA, Kosiniak-Kamysz said that the help approved by President Joe Biden is still flowing into Ukraine. He added, however, that “we are probably also moving to such a point when Ukraine, maintaining the ability of its armed forces, should buy equipment produced in Poland by Joint Venture Polish-American companies,” which he talked to HegeSthem about.
He admitted that some projects in this matter may take years, but it is necessary to take the first step.
“I told HegeSeth: Send the mission of your companies quickly”
– Secretary of HegeSeth asked what we can do in this matter. I say: “Send quickly the mission of all your companies interested in such an action and we will be implemented in urgent mode, because it is really necessary to develop European funds well” – reported the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
He drew attention to the already implemented investments so that Poland would become a service center and logistics hub, including to support Ukraine. When asked about what could include the Polish-American Joint Venture, Kosiniak-Kamysz replied that he proposed several areas of production of double-application equipment (civil and military), as well as the joint development of new technologies and artificial intelligence.
– We should bet on it very much and I know that I will be able to announce very interesting investments soon – he announced.
Abolishing requirements for the purchase of American weapons
The deputy prime minister also informed that in the Pentagon he talked about the abolition of bureaucratic requirements for Poland when buying American weapons, including ITAR regulations limiting the export of American weapons and technology.
– I think that positive decisions in this matter are ahead of us. I have such an impression from today's meeting. The procedures of many programs are changing, including Foreign Military Sales and Foreign Military Financing, which is very important for Poland-said Kosiniak-Kamysz.
– We want to be in a group of priority countries. We want to join Australia and the United Kingdom, which have less restrictions in shopping, in administrative restrictions. Everything seems to be on the right track – added the deputy prime minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense.
