United States Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy announced that he will reduce air traffic at the 40 largest airports in the United States from Friday if the longest budget paralysis in US history is not ended by then. The reduction in the number of flights by up to several thousand a day is the result of the staffing situation at airports as thousands of federal employees – including air traffic controllers – work without pay for a second month.

Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News that the new mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani, “should be nicer to him” because the president controls the funds flowing to the city. He encouraged the politician to “reach out to him.” This is a reaction to Mamdani's victory speech, in which he challenged the president several times, saying, among other things, that “to take care of any of us (immigrants), he will have to defeat all of us.”
