The public administrator of the Capital, Lucian Judele, urges the people of Bucharest to call the phone number 021 9524, available 24/7, if they see homeless people on the street.

The capital is under frost and blizzard warning. Very low temperatures will continue, especially at night and in the morning, and for homeless people every hour spent outside becomes a struggle. If you see someone sleeping on the street, exhausted or in distress, don't look away. A simple call to 021 9524, available 24/7, can make the difference between life and death. We don't have to do big things. Just to care. A small gesture, done in time, can save a life”Judele wrote on his Facebook page on Friday.

And the City Hall of Sector 1 urged Bucharest residents to call 0734 454 543, if they notice homeless people exposed to the cold. In the shelter center in Odăi Road no. 3-5, the beneficiaries have a heated space, hot food, personal hygiene and safe rest, the local authority informed, during this week, according to Agerpres.

The General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Sector 2 indicated the phone number 021 9862, for those who observe homeless people in difficulty.

“The teams of the Sector 2 Social Assistance Directorate are on the ground around the clock and can intervene quickly to provide shelter, warm food and safety. A call can save a life”the institution wrote on Facebook.

The General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Sector 6 announces the emergency number 0731 624 849, which works permanently. On January 13, the institution informed that a total of eight homeless people were located and identified in Sector 6.

“Mr. V. is one of the homeless people located and identified in Sector 6 on the night of January 12 to 13. (…) He ended up sleeping wrapped in cardboard, near a subway station, following a recent work accident, which left him without a job and, at the same time, without the money he used to pay his rent month after month. At 47 years old, without family and working where he can, a home has become a luxury. As it is for everyone else like him. And the help from the community is more important than ever.”stated DGASPC Sector 6, on the same social network.
