In Krasnoyarsk, the owner of the Rubin consignment store illegally provided loans to clients. This was reported to the regional prosecutor's office.

The department's audit showed that the consignment store operated as a pawnshop for several years. Instead of transparent collateral transactions, clients were offered to draw up a fictitious commission agreement. In fact, it was a classic consumer loan secured by property.

This fall, one of the clients received 2.5 thousand rubles as collateral for their smartphone. And when the time came to buy back the item, he was forced to return not only the loan amount, but also interest – 4% of the value of the collateral per day.

“At the same time, the entrepreneur was not even registered as a pawnshop, violating the basic requirements of the law,” law enforcement officers explained.

By order of the prosecutor's office, the court fined the businessman for illegal activities in providing consumer loans (Part 1 of Article 14.56 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) for 30 thousand rubles.

After a prosecutor's inspection, the illegal activity was stopped. Now the entrepreneur is preparing all the documents for legal work.
