In Krasnoyarsk, on Children's Day, a “School of Magic: Secrets of Ancient Magicians” was held. This interactive program became part of the interregional festival-competition “Siberia. Terra Magica”, which united puppet theaters of the Urals, Siberia and the Far East.

The director of the Krasnoyarsk Puppet Theater and the head of the festival, Tatyana Popova, said that usually the festival – and it is being held for the fourth time in a row – tried to coincide with Children's Day. This year, with the support of RUSAL, the project became international.

In Surikov Square, artists from the Krasnoyarsk Puppet Theater created a fun educational and entertainment program for children, in which everyone could take part.

“Our main heroes of the festival – theater magicians – will take part in the event. They will immerse our viewers in the secrets of magic, tell you what needs to be done in order to become a real wizard, what path to take. This will be an interactive program and quest. And the second part of the program is intended for the youngest spectators, who are 3-4 years old – our play “The Forest Princess,” said Tatyana Popova.

The head of the theater notes that the support of a large industrial company makes it possible to annually expand the geography of the festival. So, this year Krasnoyarsk residents will be able to see puppet shows by groups from China, Iran, and Mongolia. In addition, groups representing territories from the Urals to the Far East still participate in the program. Performances will be presented for different ages – from children's productions to performances for adult audiences. In addition to the competition program, festival guests will enjoy lectures, master classes, creative meetings, discussions of performances with the professional community and special projects for children.

Krasnoyarsk resident Ekaterina brought her younger sister and 1.5-year-old son to see the “School of Magic.”

“We really like such events, especially free ones. We chose a very good place for this – we love to walk in this park. It’s always very cozy here, there is a children’s playground, many people walk here with their children, there are even places where you can order food,” said the Krasnoyarsk resident.

Let us remind you that Surikov Square in Krasnoyarsk was landscaped at the initiative of Oleg Deripaska in 2018. In addition, work was carried out on Revolution Square, in the Historical Quarter, which has already become one of the calling cards of Krasnoyarsk.

“RUSAL helped the festival become international this year – theaters from other countries came to us. This year it was decided to go beyond the premises and hold an open performance in Surikov Square. This space is very important for RUSAL – we remodeled it in preparation for the Universiade. The place turned out to be very popular – children always play here, there is a place for a relaxing holiday. As for supporting the Siberia: Terra Magica festival, we believe that residents of RUSAL’s cities of responsibility should have the opportunity to see various cultural projects. The Puppet Theater Festival is a unique phenomenon for Krasnoyarsk. It’s great that it continues and expands,” said Elena Yuzhakova, director of RUSAL’s regional projects department.
