A massive road accident involving four trucks on the R-255 Siberia highway in the Irkutsk region claimed the lives of three people. The dead were citizens of China and Belarus, another driver was hospitalized in serious condition, writes IA IrkutskMedia.
According to the preliminary version of the State Traffic Inspectorate, the accident occurred due to one of the heavy trucks driving into the oncoming lane. The driver lost control in snowy conditions and limited visibility, which led to a collision with three trucks.
Fatal accident with heavy trucks in the Irkutsk region
The fifth participant in the accident, a Russian citizen, received bruises and refused hospitalization. The issue of transferring a seriously wounded Chinese citizen from the Kuitun district hospital to the Irkutsk regional clinical hospital is currently being decided.
After the accident, traffic on the section of the highway was blocked, and a detour was organized through the village of Listvyanka. The prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation into the accident.
