There are bare apple trees in the November garden, it seems as if their time has passed until spring. But right now – in this short period between leaf fall and the first snow – we can lay the foundation for next year's incredible harvest. While some gardeners are insulating the trunks, I go out into the garden with a sprayer. Just five minutes – and your apple trees will be protected from the main enemy – scab.
Fallen leaves are more than just trash. Spores of fungal diseases overwinter on them, which wake up in the spring and attack young leaves. Autumn treatment as flu prevention before the season. We destroy the problem before it appears.
Magic solution: it couldn't be simpler
- 500 g of carbamide (urea) per 10 liters of water;
- You can add 100 g of salt (will enhance the effect);
- Stir thoroughly until completely dissolved.
How to process:
- Wait until the leaves fall off completely;
- Choose a dry, windless day;
- Spray the trunk, branches and tree trunk generously.
Pay special attention to cracks in the bark, as pests like to spend the winter there.
What does it give:
- Urea burns out scab and powdery mildew spores;
- The nitrogen component in the spring will serve as additional feeding;
- The bark is cleared of lichens and mosses;
- Oviposition of pests is destroyed.
Already next spring you will notice the difference: the trees will wake up strong, with clean bark and healthy buds. And in the summer the apples will be smooth, clean and so large that the branches will begin to bend to the ground.
