MegaFon and the MFC launched a project to sell the SIM-Card of the operator

MegaFon began to implement the project to sell its SIM cards in the country's multifunctional centers.

The first stage was launched in the Leningrad region and until the end of June will cover more than 40 public services of the regional network of the MFC. The launch of this project will allow the current and new customers of Megafon to significantly reduce the total temporary costs for the registration of the contract for the provision of communication services.

The project was implemented as part of the agreement between Megafon and the MFC of the Leningrad Region. The first pilot platform in the MFC Leningrad region, where you can buy a MegaFon SIM card, was the Vsevolozhsky business office. Until the end of the month, the project will be distributed to all public services centers for this MFC.

The ability to purchase a SIM card in the MFC will be especially relevant for certain categories of customers, primarily foreign citizens. In accordance with the current version of the Law “On Communications”, from January 1 of the current year, the conclusion of an agreement on the provision of mobile services with foreign citizens or stateless persons is carried out under new rules.

In particular, a foreign citizen needs to make a notarized transfer of an identity document and get an individual personal account (SNILS) insurance number, and then start an account at the public services portal and confirm it. After that, you need to register in a single biometric system.

Obtaining SNILS requires a visit to the MFC or branch of the Russian Social Fund (SFR), and for the delivery of biometrics it is necessary to come to the bank. Conducting all procedures can take up to two weeks. Meanwhile, the telecom operator begins to provide his services only after checking the information about the subscriber on the portal of public services and in the Unified Biometric System (EBS).

The cooperation of the mobile operator and the MFC will significantly reduce the time of customers to receive SNILS, the institution and confirmation of the account on the portal of public services and the design of the SIM card, since now all this can be done in one place.

In the future, Megaphone plans to expand such cooperation with the MFC and other regions of the Russian Federation.

So, a significant part of foreign citizens arrives in our country for only two to three months and often simply does not have the opportunity to go through all the necessary procedures to activate contracts.
