Presidential adviser Ludovic Orban said on Friday evening, on B1 TV, that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will go to Parliament to respond to the summons made by the PSD, but that he does not know if it will happen on Monday or Tuesday, but when the Prime Minister's schedule allows.

Ludovic Orban considers it “strange” to convene the PSD, especially since it comes from one of the parties that are part of the governing coalition, News.ro notes.

“Even if this call to Parliament is strange, made by a party within the coalition, the party that held the Ministry of Defense until this Government, here we enter into a parliamentary procedure that is regulated by the rules of the Chamber of Deputies”, declared Ludovic Orban.

Presidential adviser Ludovic Orban stated that the procedure of calling the prime minister is part of a normal mechanism for informing the Parliament about the Government's activity.

“I am convinced that Prime Minister Bolojan will comply with this invitation according to parliamentary procedures. I don't know if on Monday, if on Tuesday, when the schedule will allow him, but he will certainly come before the Parliament to answer the questions that will be put to him,” Orban said.

PSD-AUR alliance in Parliament: Bolojan, called to give explanations

PSD called on Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan in Parliament on Monday, November 3, during “Prime Minister's Hour”. The request was approved on Thursday by the leadership of the Chamber of Deputies, led by Sorin Grindeanu, with the vote of PSD and AUR.

The reason is related to the Government's reaction to the US decision to withdraw part of the military from Romania, according to the document submitted by the Social Democrats.

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated, on Thursday evening, in an interview on Antena 1, that the announcement regarding the withdrawal of American troops from the Mihail Kogălniceanu base was postponed for two days by the authorities in Bucharest because it was agreed with the American side for it to make the announcement for the first time during a briefing in the Defense Committee of the House of Representatives.

The Head of Government explained that a press conference was already prepared at the Ministry of Defense in Bucharest to make the announcement, but the information “leaked” a day earlier, being published in the Ukrainian press.

Also on Thursday, Ilie Bolojan said that he has not yet received the invitation to be present in Parliament to give explanations about the withdrawal of American troops from Romania and that he will give an answer on Friday – whether or not he will participate in the “Prime Minister's Hour” in the Chamber of Deputies.
