For the Day of Brown Eyes, the Krasnoyarsk Center for Public Health has prepared a selection of interesting facts about their owners.

The center's specialists report that brown eyes are the most common in the world – from 55 to 79% of the world's population have this eye color. Brown eyes can have a variety of shades – from light honey to deep chocolate, and in sunlight they often display golden and greenish tints. Among the rare shades, hazel eyes stand out, which are found in only 5% of the world's population.

At the same time, scientists have found that the blue color of the iris is hidden under the brown pigment of brown-eyed people.

Doctors paid special attention to medical aspects. Research shows that women with brown eyes have a higher pain threshold – this has been proven by observations of women in labor. However, brown-eyed people are more likely to experience seasonal mental disorders and are generally more sleepy.

Psychological studies show that brown-eyed people quickly inspire trust and gain authority in the team.
