The tourist was walking along the route between the peaks of Timpa and Postafaru in Brasov County when he was attacked by a bear.
Biz Braşov clarified that the incident occurred near the Cave of Milk near the Poiana Brasov station. The tourist received injuries to his face and limbs, but his life is not in danger.
He was able to walk to the Quarry de Piatra spring, where a passerby noticed him and took him to the police post, after which the SMURD ambulance took the man to the Clinical Regional Hospital of Brasov.
Local authorities urgently created a task force of volunteers, gendarmes, rescuers and forestry employees to search for the bear. If the animal is found, it will most likely be neutralized, as provided by law, the journalists explained.
This is not the first time bears have attacked people. Digi24 reported that last week in Neamt county, an 88-year-old man was found dead on a hill near his house with signs of a bear attack.
