Editorial team of the Ukrainian culinary website Shuba published recipe for meatballs in tomato sauce.
“In this recipe, we combine steamed meatballs with tomato cream sauce, which gives them a rich taste. This version of dietary meatballs is suitable for both a daily menu and a family dinner,” the website says.
Ingredients:
- 750 g minced pork;
- one onion;
- one clove of garlic;
- 100 g oatmeal;
- one egg;
- 1.5 tsp. salt;
- 1 tsp. khmeli-suneli;
- one stalk each of dill and parsley.
Ingredients for tomato sauce:
- 1 tbsp. l. flour;
- 500 ml meat broth;
- 50 ml cream;
- 1 tsp. Italian herbs;
- 0.5 tsp. salt;
- one stalk each of dill and parsley.
Preparation
- Grind the onion, garlic and egg in a blender. Add oatmeal and beat again. Transfer the mixture to a bowl with minced meat, add finely chopped herbs, salt and suneli hops. Stir until smooth.
- Form the mixture into balls and place them on a plate. Place them in the freezer to freeze a little.
- Place the meatballs on the multicooker rack, pour 500 ml of water into the bowl and cook for 15 minutes. Do not pour the broth out of the bowl – it will be useful for the sauce.
- Fry the flour in a dry frying pan until creamy.
- Pour the broth into the pan and stir. Bring to a boil.
- Add tomato paste, finely chopped herbs, cream and Italian herbs to the pan. Add salt, stir and simmer for two to three minutes.
- Place the meatballs in the pan with the sauce, cover and cook over low heat for about 10 minutes.
