A Russian army regiment has begun forming assault units composed only of female soldiers, which it is using in attacks on Pokrosk, a Ukrainian resistance movement said, as quoted by Ukrainska Pravda.

The Ukrainian logistics center Pokroskun are one of the key targets of Moscow's forces in the Donetsk region.

According to the latest assessment by the US think tank the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian troops continue to advance towards the city, but almost certainly do not control any positions in Pokrovsk. ISW says at least one Russian infiltration mission has failed and that Moscow's forces appear to be making significant efforts to capture Pokrovsk in the coming months.

ATESH, the Ukrainian resistance movement operating in the occupied territories, said its sources in the Russian army's 506th Regiment described “catastrophic losses” among Msocova's forces.

In the event of an unsuccessful assault, female soldiers change into civilian clothes

That is why the commanders of the regiment would have started to recruit women for its assault operations. ATESH states that this is to compensate for the lack of mercenaries and contract soldiers.

“Women soldiers are also used for infiltration. In the event of an unsuccessful assault, they are ordered to change into civilian clothes and conduct reconnaissance and transmit information on the movements of the Ukrainian army,” ATESH wrote on Telegram.

“Our sources have confirmed that there is no way back for them. Their lives depend only on the 'mercy' of their commanders, which can be won in only one way. The Russian army has lost all moral landmarks,” the Ukrainian resistance movement formed in 2022 after the start of the invasion commanded by Vladimir Putin also stated.
