The cockroaches left and did not return: I poured it into a corner and forgot – no chemicals or smell, and after a week there was silence

It happens like this: you open a kitchen cabinet at night and see something quickly darting through the crack. Or you notice a strange smell in the bathroom, like something musty. It's not just “dirty” – it's cockroaches. They are not afraid of the cold, do not disappear during cleaning and appear even in the cleanest houses, especially in old houses or on the first floors.

Many people run for aerosols, gels with chemicals, and call disinfectants. But cockroaches quickly get used to the poisons, and the smell from the sprays lasts for weeks. There is a simpler, cheaper and safer way, especially if there are children or animals in the house.

Take a small bowl or jar lid. Pour into it a mixture of boric acid and sugar in a 1:1 ratio, 1 teaspoon each. Add a little water or jam to make a thick paste. Place it in the corners of the kitchen, behind the refrigerator, under the sink, and anywhere you notice marks.

Cockroaches are attracted by the sweet smell, eat the paste and carry particles of the mixture into the nest. Boric acid acts slowly, but kills the entire colony, including the larvae. At the same time, it is safe for humans and pets in small doses, if not eaten with spoons.

Do not place bait near food or utensils. After the cockroaches disappear, seal the cracks with silicone.

After 3-4 days you will no longer see adults.

Question and answer:

How long does anti-cockroach bait last?
Up to 2 weeks. After that it needs to be updated.

What to do if there are cockroaches in the next apartment?
Even if your place is clean, they can come through ventilation or pipes. Preventative baiting and sealing of cracks is your protection.
