Five people, including a child, were injured in a drone attack on the Moscow region, Governor Andrei Vorobyov said on Friday, quoted by Reuters and the Kyiv Independent.

A drone flew into an apartment on the 14th floor of the building around 4 a.m. local time, Vorobyov said on Telegram.

Four people were hospitalized, including the child who suffered a dislocated knee and minor shin injuries, he added.

Images posted on social media show an explosion on an upper floor of a block of flats:

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin claimed on Telegram that Russian anti-aircraft shot down three drones flying towards the capital. He said emergency workers were working at the sites where the debris fell.

Russia's defense ministry said on Friday morning that its forces shot down 111 Ukrainian drones overnight, including 34 flying over the Rostov region on the Ukrainian border in the west.

The ministry reported only one drone shot down over the Moscow region, not three as the mayor of the Russian capital said.
