The interim mayor of the capital, Stelian Bujduveanu, announced on Sunday that the Roads Administration has started removing the cars damaged in the explosion on Friday morning from a block in the Rahova district, “to completely free the perimeter and allow the access of technical teams under safe conditions”.

The mayor said that the owners of the damaged cars will receive “free public transport tickets”.

“The Roads Administration has already started picking up the damaged cars, in order to completely clear the perimeter and allow the technical teams access under safe conditions. For the owners of these vehicles, we ordered that the first measure of support is the granting of free subscriptions to public transport for a period of half a year”, said Stelian Bujduveanu, on Sunday, in a post on Facebook.

He stated that “there are still 78 people staying in the hotel units made available by the Capital City Hall, some of them choosing to temporarily stay with relatives”.

“On the agenda of the Capital City Hall is the adoption of additional support measures, aimed at mobility, financial support, psychological assistance and the staged recovery plan for the affected area, which you will be informed about as they are implemented. All measures follow a structured approach in stages, depending on urgency and impact: safety, immediate support, evaluation, reconstruction”, added the Capital City Mayor.

Three people died and 20 were injured in an explosion that occurred on Friday morning in a block of flats in the Rahova district, in Sector 5 of the capital. The building had 108 apartments in which about 400 people lived.
