A controversial phase took place in extra time of the first half. Sierra fell in the box after a sliding entry by Țîru, and the referee Radu Petrescu initially dictated a penalty for FC Argeș.
The “Central” reviewed the phase on the VAR monitor and changed its decision. Ianis Zicu protested, demanding that the away player be penalized with a second “yellow” (and sent off) for simulation, but it was the technician who received a card.
