The gardener advised that when planting garlic cloves, pre-fertilize the holes with wood ash. After the fertilizer has been applied, you can plant the garlic by sticking the seed into the ground with the root down.
There should be a distance of about 15 cm between the garlic cloves so that the bushes can grow well. In this case, the distance between the rows should be about 30 cm. After the garlic is planted, the holes need to be covered with earth using a hoe.
Soak
Before planting garlic in the ground, experienced gardeners recommend soaking it in a saline solution for several hours. The fact is that salt not only disinfects the seeds, thereby protecting them from pests and diseases, but also feeds them. As a result, the new garlic harvest will be incredibly juicy and tasty.
What else can you do to fertilize the soil?
In October, about two weeks before planting garlic, fertilize the soil with potassium sulfate. Thanks to this, the garlic will grow large and will be stored well throughout the year.
