Fierce fighting has continued recently in the Donetsk region in the Pokrovsk region, which the occupiers want to capture.

On October 26, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov reported to the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin about the alleged encirclement of Ukrainian troops near Kupyansk and Pokrovsk. This information was denied by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky, and the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that such statements expose Putin to ridicule.
