In Minusinsk, the general director of Med-Engineering LLC was fined for taking a bribe in a package of buckwheat (video)

The general director of Med-Engineering LLC will pay a fine of 2.9 million rubles for giving a bribe to the head doctor of the Minusinsk hospital. The prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk region reported this.

According to the supervisory authority, in the period from 2023 to 2024, the Minusinsk Interdistrict Hospital entered into 13 contracts for the supply of medical equipment and medical products with a single supplier – Med-Engineering LLC. Their total amount was more than 15 million rubles. This money was used to purchase electrocardiographs, ventilators and consumables for X-ray machines.

The head physician ensured that the counterparty received contracts without bidding. At the same time, the cost of the transaction was inflated. For this, the head of the hospital received a bribe of 800 thousand rubles from the general director of the company. The businessman transferred the illegal reward in parts in envelopes, an advertising booklet and even a pack of buckwheat.

“I put the money in a box of instant buckwheat porridge. During lunch, I put the box on the table and told the head doctor that this was my gift, he understood everything and smiled at my conspiracy, but took the box with the money,” admitted the head of the supplier company.

The prosecutor entered into a pre-trial cooperation agreement with the accused, and he admitted his guilt in full.

For giving a bribe (Part 4 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the court sentenced him to a fine, with deprivation of the right to occupy managerial and leadership positions in commercial organizations in the field of trade in pharmaceutical products and medical devices for 2 years.

The issue of appealing the verdict will be decided after it is finalized.

We would like to remind you that the criminal case for taking a bribe (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against the head physician of the Minusinsk Interdistrict Hospital was suspended because he signed a contract for military service.

In addition, by order of the prosecutor, the company was fined 500 thousand rubles for illegal remuneration on behalf of a legal entity (Part 1 of Article 19.28 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).
