To keep the pepper in perfect condition, it must be laid out in a thin layer in plastic boxes with holes. In this case, each fruit must be wrapped in paper. In such conditions, the fruits will be perfectly preserved – they will not wither, and those fruits that are not fully ripe will fully ripen.
Secrets of long-term storage
- Do not wash peppers before storing. Water destroys the natural protective coating, which causes the fruits to wither faster and become vulnerable to microorganisms.
- Provide air circulation. Place the peppers in a thin layer and do not cover the boxes tightly – the fruits must “breathe”.
- Sort your crops regularly. Remove damaged copies. Harvest fully ripe fruits first.
