Potaissa Turda and Minaur Baia Mare, defeated in the first stage of EHF European League »Defeat to the limit for Cluj

Potaissa Turda and Minaur Baia Mare were defeated on Tuesday, October 14, in the first games in the EHF European League groups. The band from Cluj lost to the limit in front of Bidasoa Irun, 33-34, while the Maramures group was defeated by Slovan Ljubljana with 35-29.
On Wednesday, October 14, the group phase in the EHF European League, the second continental handball competition, began. Romania is represented in this league of two teams: Potaissa Turda and Minaur Baia Mare.
Potaissa Turda, fail to go to a goal in front of Bidasoa Irun, Iberian band
Distributed in Group A, Potaissa Turda made her debut in this year's EHF European Edition with a duel with Bidasoa Irun, the winner of the Champions League 30 years ago. The Transylvanians offered a solid reply in front of the Spanish band, but the result was not favorable to them.
The confrontation from Turda was balanced and, at the break, the score was equal: 16-16. After returning from the locker rooms, the two bands continued to go to the head, but at the end the guests took the initiative.
The hosts had, at one point, the chance of equalization, but they were wasted and finally Bidasoa Irun has imposed with 34-33.
The winners of the winner were Rodrigo Munoz (11 goals), Julen Santiago (6 goals), Xavier Hernandez (5 goals) and Gorka Marcos (5 goals).
On the other side, Teodor Pințoiu (7 goals), Radu Ghiță (7 goals), Ivan Mosic (5 goals) and Gabriel Dumitriu (4 goals) were noted.

Minaur Baia Mare, clearly dominated on Slovan Ljubljana's land
The second match of the day was the one between Slovan Ljubljana and Minaur Baia Mare. In front of a reduced audience, the hosts controlled the game, managing to win both the first and second half.
The Băimărenians, who came after the equal in Cluj, showed some good times, but could not rise to the level of the opponents. After 60 minutes, Slovenians won 35-29, marking the last second after a time-out.
Slovan's main scorers were Leon Ljevar (12 goals), STAS Skube (6 goals), Tarik Mlivic (5 goals) and Tim Cokan (4 goals).
From Minaur's camp Tudor Boțea (7 goals), David Moldovan (4 goals), Stefan Vujic (3 goals) and Anderson Mollino (3 goals) were noted.
