FCSB exited the Europa League last night after drawing 1-1 with Fenerbahce in a solid performance in which the Reds and Blues posed big problems for the goal defended by the well-known Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson.

After less than 24 hours, the captain of the Romanian champions, Darius Olaru (27 years old), posted a message on Instagram in which he thanks the supporters and expresses his pride for the way the team fought.

The last match of this Europa League season. Proud of the fight, grateful for every moment. Thank you for your support”it is shown in the message posted by Darius Olaru on Instagram.

The captain left the field in the 66th minute due to an injury: “I hope it's not serious what I felt. A very strong opponent. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough quality up front. I missed many opportunities. And I had two good situations to score. Second, if he caught me in a better time, I say I didn't miss it. That's how it is in football”, said Olaru, about the injury suffered.

I don't know what to believe! We are talking about so many restarts… There were periods and periods. I hope it will be a restart, because even after a European match we managed to tie some good results in the championship. We're in a bad mood. With the negative results, even the fans left.

Superliga standings

Eliminated from the Europa League, FCSB will now focus exclusively on the championship. The next test is the duel with Csikszereda, scheduled for Sunday, from 20:00. Since the 2015/2016 season, since the introduction of the current competitive system, FCSB has never missed the play-off, but the situation this season is one of the most complicated for the title champion.
