Krasnoyarsk police officers prevented a major fraud by saving 700 thousand rubles for two pensioners.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a 73-year-old man contacted the duty station on October 9 after he transferred 1.5 million rubles to scammers through a taxi courier. Criminal investigation officers quickly tracked down the suspect – a 19-year-old university student.
During the interrogation, the young man received a new task from the criminals. The police took the initiative into their own hands: they agreed to meet with the scammers and intercepted 300 thousand rubles that they planned to receive.
The investigation showed that the victims were two pensioners – an 86-year-old woman and a 74-year-old woman. The first has already given 260 thousand rubles to scammers under the pretext of declaring funds, the second – 40 thousand. The pensioners were preparing to transfer another 410 thousand rubles, but the police stopped the deal in time.
Police caught a Krasnoyarsk student who helped scammers
Investigators opened a criminal case of fraud against the student. All seized money will be returned to its rightful owners.
