The meeting was held in the office of the Prime Minister of the Victoria Palace and had the topics of discussion that are made for the celebration of the “Year of Nadia Comăneci” in 2026 and for the gala dedicated to the gymnast, which will take place on May 29, according to the Government's website.
In 2026, 50 years have passed since the Olympic Games in Montreal – an edition of the OJ, which entered the history of sport as “Olympiad Nadia Comaneci”, after Nadia received seven notes of 10 (the first in the history of official gymnastics competitions!) At the meeting was also discussed about the organization of gymnastics competitions, sporting, educational events and about launching the documentary dedicated to Nadia Comăneci.
“In the memory of the Romanian society the name Nadia Comăneci has made history in the last 50 years. The results of his work and the performances have inspired and will continue to inspire,” said Bolojan. He also said that the Executive will provide all the necessary support for organizing events.
Another topic of the meeting was to encourage the practice of sport by children and young people.
