A strong explosion occurred on Friday at a military explosive factory in Tennessee (state in southeast US), causing the death of several people, while at least 19 are currently sought, said local officials quoted by CNN.
The deflagration, which took place around 07:45 in the morning, the local time, was a “devastating” one, but the intervention teams finally managed to secure the area, the Sheriff Chris Davis, from Humphreys county, announced in a press conference.
He said that at this time, at least 19 people are missing.

“We have victims, we can confirm that there are deceased people,” Humphreys County had previously said.
And a representative of the Emergency Services in the Hickman County stated in CNN that it has not yet been able to establish “the extent of the damages and the number of victims.”
In fact, several emergency services have intervened on the spot and make efforts to limit the fire, but for now they cannot approach the affected area due to the risk of secondary explosions, the source said.
The images broadcast by the local televisions surprise what remained of a completely destroyed building, burning, and vehicles destroyed by the breath of the explosion.
The explosive factory belongs to the energy-systems energetically accused, an army supplier, and is located about 90 kilometers southwest of Nashville, the capital and largest city in Tennessee, on the border between Hickman and Humphreys.

Residents near the factory say they have felt the impact of the explosion. “I thought the house had collapsed with me inside,” said a local for Associated Press. “I live very close to accurate and realized how I woke up, in 30 seconds, that this must have been.”
Systems energetically accused is specialized in the production of military explosives.
