The American proposal to cease fire in the Gaza Strip, approved by Israel, “does not respond to any request of our people,” said Bassem Naim, one of Hamas leaders in exile, reports News.ro citing France Info.
“The response of the occupation (Israel – no) means, in essence, the perpetuation of occupation, the continuation of crimes and starvation and does not respond to any request of our people, especially the cessation of war and hunger,” said the leader Hamas.
However, “the management of the movement examines, with a great sense of responsibility and with patriotism, the answer to be given to this proposal,” he added.
The government of Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted the proposal to cease fire in the gas formulated by US President Donald Trump, the White House announced on Thursday. This proposal was signed by Israel “before being sent to Hamas,” the white house spokesman, Karoline Leavitt, announced. “The discussions continue,” she added.
A little earlier, Hamas had announced that he would study this American agreement. “The leadership of the movement received from the mediators the new proposal of the (special envoy of US President Donald Trump for the Middle East, Steve) Witkoff and is currently examining it, so as to serve the interests of our people, to bring them relief and to lead to a permanent armistice in the Gaza Strip,”
