The traumas of a district of contrasts. The Calea Moșilor, the ancient heart of the business in Bucharest, and its continuous degradation

Calea Moșilor-the old bridge of the outside fair, once the artery by merchant excellence, contains an old segment, which starts from Bărăiei street and ends in Carol I Boulevard and which is defined by the announcement “attention, danger of collapse”, and another socialist, between the BD. Carol / Calea Moșilor and Obor Square.

The neighborhood of Moșilor is confused with the Calea Moșilor and his adjacent streets, the road around which a significant part of the old Bucharest, the artery that coagulated guilds, foresters and trades of all ethnicities and specializations has blossomized.

In 1906, Calea Moșilor was one of the longest arteries Bucharest, with a length of almost 2 and a half kilometers.

Until the 1970s, the district of Moșilor kept their commercial aspect, among the merchant houses were shops and workshops that had taken the place of the former inns, barges and shops.

Over time, Calea Moșilor has retained its original route, but the systematization during the communist regime radically changed its identity.

B365.ro restores, with documents and images, the old road of the business in Bucharest, now probably one of the most fragile and contrasting places in the city.
