The Great Britain's government forbade in the new package of sanctions aimed at exports of pads for gaming, because they are used to manage military drones, Politico said. In total, 150 new sanctions were announced on Thursday at Downing Street, which were covered by Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine.

“We prohibit the export of pads for games to prevent drones from the front line; this means that game consoles will not change their destiny and kill (people) in Ukraine,” said Deputy Minister Stephen Doughty from the ministry responsible for sanctions.

Among the goods and services that can no longer supply the Russian economy, there were also software that allows the search and operation of oil and gas deposits, from which income goes to the army.

“Today we are demonstrating our strength to strangle the Russian war machine, save the lives of Ukrainians and defend British enterprises against Russian exploitation cynicism,” said Doughty.

The new sanction package includes tools such as signal amplifiers or circuits that the British authorities assessed as crucial for the Russian arms industry. In addition, chemical products, metals, electronics and machines will not reach Russia from the British Isles.

“Cutting Russia from energy income, weakens the Putin war machine – that's why we end the sale of advanced operating systems used to draw oil and gas profits,” said Doughty. He noted that these sanctions are to prevent the use of British expert knowledge to finance the Russian army. (PAP)
