CNA prohibits ads to gambling promoted by celebrities

The stars will no longer be able to appear in the commercials for gambling on TV, radio and online, according to a decision voted on Wednesday in the meeting of the National Audiovisual Council (CNA), transmits the media page.
The provision is part of a series of changes to the regulatory code in audiovisual, the secondary legislation on the basis of which the CNA operates.
“It is forbidden to broadcast advertising for gambling in which personalities of public, cultural, scientific, sports or other people, who, due to the notoriety in the online environment, are present, can encourage participation in such games,” the new article 110, paragraph 7 again voted again.
The new provision will become mandatory 90 days after the audiovisual code comes into force.
The reaction of the betting industry
Kaizergaming, the Federation of Gambling Organizers, but also the Romanian Transmedia audit office, which deals with measuring the written press and online, have requested the elimination of this article. All amendments were rejected unanimously.
Among the contestants were Winbet, who asked the CNA to allow the stars to be used at least in “social responsibility” campaigns. As well as the Romanian Football Federation, which proposed that the personalities could appear in the awareness or social responsibility campaigns, notes the media page.
