The American McDonald's corporation has submitted a request to Rospatent for its commercial trademark “McDonald's”.

According to Russia's State Agency, invoking the Department's documents, the application was submitted since December 2024, and Rospatent has now accepted it for examination.
Under the McDonald's brand, the company wants to produce and sell drinks and fast food in Russia, provide restaurant services and deliver food, writes the agency, according to RIA Novosti.
“The request is currently in the stated name examination stage. The chances of registration are certainly high because the company has retained its rights to all McDonald's key brands”said Alina Akinshina, CEO of the Patent online company, in an interview with the Agency.
In May 2022, McDonald's announced its withdrawal from the Russian market due to the wide-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The company's assets were sold to a businessman from Kuzbass, Alexander Govor, who managed McDonald's restaurants in Siberia based on a franchise agreement.
Former McDonald's restaurants in Russia started operating under the brand “Vkusno ”.
