As Al-Gharafa would have sent the money for Coman in a fake account. FCSB does not believe the hypothesis: “They have done this. A mess”

The Sports Arbitration of Lausanne (TAS) published, on Friday, the official explanations in the case between Qatar, Al-Gharafa, and FCSB, related to the transfer of Florinel Coman (26 years).

The officials of Al-Gharafa claim that they have paid the Romanian termination clause since last summer, but in a Vietnam account. FCSB, however, claimed that the account does not belong to the group and demonstrated the veicity of the official account of the red-blue, which has been sent to Quartares since the beginning of the agreement. The 30-page document clearly shows how Al-Gharafa was fooled.
It all started from fake emails. While the two clubs communicated through official messages, someone started sending emails from addresses that resembled those of the FCSB, but had mistakes (for example, “fscb-ro.com” instead of “fcsb.ro”).
A strange detail: just 12 minutes after the President of FCSB, Valeriu Argăseală, sent an official email with the clause and the correct banking data, Al-Gharafa received another identical message, but from an address unrelated to the club.
Argăseală, the so-called “intermediary”
Other strange emails followed, and in the end, even from Argăseală's address, banking data from Vietnam were sent. The Qatares thought they were correct and made the payment there, although in the same e-mail the fake addresses also appeared.
An investigation conducted by specialists has shown that messages with false fields did not go through the FCSB servers, so the Romanian club cannot be accused directly of fraud. However, the question remains how the data of the Vietnam account came to Argăseală's official email. Either the account of the FCSB official was broken or the message was “cloned”.
In his defense, Argăseală said that the team from Qatar had to notice that something is not right: the wrong areas, the lack of digital signature on documents and the inconsistencies in the emails.
In the end, like FIFA, Tas decided that although Al-Gharafa was the victim of a computer fraud, the fault is the quattas because they did not check more carefully.
Mihai Stoica does not believe: “They did the same with Vietnam!”
“It is a fraud made by them, they have done this with Vietnam and in Budescu. To combat the double contacts, there is a platform where the buyer and the seller climb the data.
If they are not the same data, the transfer is not made. You do not need correspondence. You climb the data, put the bill. FIFA sees and says if it's ok or not. That's a mess they did. It was clear that the club is not there, the state is made the payments! ”, said Mihai Stoica, according to primasport.ro.
Six million for Coman's transfer
Due to the fact that the money was not transferred to the FCSB account until July 31, 2024, the officials of Al-Gharafa were forced to pay one million euros, besides the five already existing (the value of Coman's termination clause).
FCSB had also requested 400,000 euros as penalties, but TAS decided as follows:
“The Commission notes that FIFA, at the decision of the appeal, concluded that Al-Gharafa is obliged to pay the FCSB the total amount of 6,000,000 euros and that the interest was not granted.
The Commission also notes that the issue related to interest was not challenged by either parties.
Therefore, this part of the decision from the appeal is already final and produces effects between the two parties, so it exceeds the duties of the Commission to judge the FCSB's request to receive interest for the respective amounts! ”, According to TAS.
