President Belarus Aleksandr Lukașenko at the urges of his Ukrainian counterpart Volodimir Zelenski to negotiate with Russia if he does not want to lose the entire Ukraine, as the more time goes by, the harder it will be to stop the Russian army's advance, the EFE and Agerpres agencies report on Friday.

“On the table there is a good proposal on Ukraine, which was transmitted to the American president Donald Trump and taken to Washington to be analyzed and debated. A very good proposal,” Lukașenko told Russian public television, after a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Lukașenko, the main Kremlin ally in the war, added that if Kiev does not accept the dialogue, things “will be even more serious, they will lose Ukraine.”

“It should have stopped (in 2022, after the negotiations in Istanbul). They would have control over the whole of the East, except Crimea. They have not stopped and lost east. If they do not stop now, in my opinion, they will lose the whole of Ukraine,” he added.

President Belarus, who during the meeting with Putin listened to a report of the General Staff of the Russian army on the evolution of war in Ukraine, warned that “later, it will be very difficult to stop the Russian army.”

“The time has come to start consultations”

Lukașenko also commented on Zelenski's recent threats to bomb the Kremlin and force the Russian leaders to hide in bunkers, saying that “it can be said and declared everything.”

“What would happen if the Kremlin bombard Bankova (the headquarters of the Ukrainian Presidency)? Volodimir Oleksandrovici (Zelenski) must calm down,” he warned, adding that he would simply want to talk to the Ukrainian leader.

“I have to tell you: I think the time has come to start consultations,” he said.

With the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations from Istanbul to the deadlock and Trump's recent tone change, the chances of ending the war and reaching an agreement between the parties become extremely unlikely.

Lukașenko and Putin had a meeting for over five hours on Friday after President Belarus participated in an atomic energy forum in Moscow.
