More than 10 months after Tom Voyce's death, a former rugby player, was discovered, following an investigation, that he had the level of alcohol almost 3 times higher than the maximum allowed limit.
At the beginning of December 2024, Tom Voyce, a former rugist, died, being taken by the currents of the Aln River, whose level increased as a result of the Darragh storm. He was last seen on December 7, and his body was found on December 12.

According to the British press, Voyce was at his brother -in -law's farm, Hugh Wood, for a hunt, But the rain gave them the plans over their heads and the group spent the evening at the Queen's Head pub in the glarant.
The former sportsman stayed until midnight, and Wood said he didn't see him affected by alcohol. The next day, when she saw that her husband had not arrived home, Anna Voyce drew an alarm and, shortly, his car, a Toyota Hilux 4×4, was found in the river.
After a few days, he was found by a diver and the body of Voyce, his death representing a shock to the rugby community in the UK. Anna said she was “devastated” and that “words cannot describe how broken her heart is”.
More than 10 months after Voyce's death, an investigation discovered that he had a concentration of 215 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of bloodthe maximum limit to drive being 80 mg.
“It is more than twice and a half times, almost 3 times higher than the maximum limit. Despite the possibility of alcohol consumption tolerance, this level is expected to have affected its coordination and judgment. You would expect him to have a significant degree of intoxication with this concentration and an impairment of decision making before his death“, Said the pathologist Clive Bloxham, quoted by The Guardian.
Tom Voyce played rugby in 2000-2013, at Bath Rugby, London Wasps, Gloucester and London Welsh. Also, between 2001 and 2006, he gathered 9 appearances in the national of England.
