In Belarus, a demographic crisis has worsened, there are problems with personnel – Ukrainian intelligence

“Over the past five years, Belarus has lost about 5% of the population who went abroad. These are mainly young specialists, families with children and highly qualified personnel, whose absence has enhanced personnel deficit and inhibits economic growth,” the report said.

Ukrainian intelligence officers noted that the reduction of the population of Belarus by 300 thousand people during 2020–2025 does not take into account migrants.

In 2024, the mortality rate almost doubled the birth rate (12.6 versus 6.5 by 1 thousand population), the most bad indicators in the Vitebsk region, emphasized in the SVR of Ukraine.

According to the service, at least 400 thousand citizens of the country, 250 thousand which are constantly living in the European Union, operates outside Belarus.

“In Russia, Belarusians make up an insignificant part of labor migrants, or approximately 124 thousand people, which is much less than immigrants from Central Asia. At the same time, in Poland at the end of 2024, social contributions paid more than 130 thousand citizens of Belarus,” the SVR said.

The demographic problems of Belarus exacerbated the outflow of personnel, which “especially hit the izector.”

“The main part of migrants is people under the age of 44, that is, at the most productive and reproductive age. Only in Poland is more than 20 thousand Belarusians with the right to permanent residence – minors. […] Attempts by the regime to compensate for the shortage of labor by attracting foreigners are still unsuccessful, ”writes RIA Novosti.

According to the service, if the Belarusians left in the country, they could annually create a value added in the amount of $ 4–4.6 billion.
