Ciprian Marica (40 years old), minority shareholder at lighthouse Constanța, spoke about the two important moves made in the Superliga in the last hours: the installation of Ioan Ovidiu Sabău on the bench of the Black Sea formation and the departure of Zeljko Kopic from Dinamo.
The former Romanian international praised the choice made by Farul and believes that the breakup between Dinamo and Kopic was unexpected.
Ciprian Marica: “Sabău is exactly what we need!”
In a video clip posted on the Facebook page, Marica is convinced that the experience and seriousness of Ioan Ovidiu Sabău can help Farul return to the fight for important goals, after a season in which they saved themselves from the relegation barrier in the penalty shootout.
“As he was as a player, so is he as a coach: he likes to build. At us he is exactly what we need, only we don't have to build, because we started this many years ago, we have to rebuild.
He has experience, he is an extremely experienced guy, he knows the Romanian championship and the players very well, he is a guy with a seriousness you rarely see, he has an excellent infrastructure and young players at his disposal. I hope he will be inspired and I am glad that Ioan Ovidiu Sabău is coaching Farul.”
Marica, about Kopic's departure: “I don't think anyone predicted this”
The former striker of the national team confessed that he was surprised by Zeljko Kopic's decision to leave Dinamo after almost three years.
“Yes, I was surprised by Kopic's departure from Dinamo. I don't think anyone predicted the departure of one of the pillars of the club's support, because Kopic gave assurance that the project was on the right track. That doesn't mean he won't be around, but it's a shame he's losing him, it remains to be seen what Dinamo will bring.”
Marica warns of the risk of bringing in a foreign coach. The Lighthouse shareholder believes that choosing a technician from outside Romania can represent both an advantage and a risk.
“When you hire a foreigner, it is a double-edged sword: it is possible that it will work, the case of those from the University of Craiova, but it is also possible that it will encounter certain problems.
He doesn't know the championship, he doesn't know the players and then he can be an impediment. But there were also happy examples. Even Kopic was a happy example.”
