Safety textbook. The Ministry of Interior and Administration and MEN are working together on a crisis lessons

In cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and Administration, a textbook is prepared on reacting in crisis situations – said Barbara Nowacka Minister on Monday. She announced that the school education for safety will also change.

During the Monday conference summarizing the scale of support provided by last year's flood, the head of the Ministry of Education was asked when and in what form a textbook for children and youth would be created devoted to reacting in crisis situations.

Work on such a textbook start in consultation with the Ministry of Interior and Administration. I hope that these materials will be ready soon – said Barbara Nowacka.

At the same time, she announced that the subject of education for safety will be changed in grade VIII of primary schools and in class I of the 1st High School, Technical Secondary School and 1st degree industry schools.

– I think that we should return to what was in defense adoption. (…) Many things have already happened, even the first aid in grades 1-3. On the other hand, security activities in crisis and civil defense are freshly discussed with the Minister of the Interior and Administration Marcin Kierwiński and we will inform when this children's textbook is ready for distribution – said Nowacka. Before the materials for children are prepared, “first you have to support teachers to be able to communicate with young people in crisis situations”.

Minister Kierwiński announced that the simplified version for children will be officially presented at the end of August “Safety Manual”.

In class VIII of primary schools and in class I of the 1st High School, Technical Secondary School and 1st degree industry schools in education lessons for safety, students will learn the rules of conduct in situations in situations posing a threat to health and life. The subject includes the content of education in the field of state security, organization of rescue operations, first aid and defense education.

Since the 2024/2025 school year, first aid learning has been obligatory to be implemented by an early school education teacher in nature education and class tutors on some classes with the tutor in grades IV -VII of primary schools, classes: II -IV of the High School, II -V technical school and II -III of the first degree industry school.
