The pilot could have hit the runway with his left wing during landing. Previously, this could have caused a fire.
Passengers say they felt a hard impact upon landing. After this, a fuel spill began. The crew quickly deployed rescue ladders and evacuated all people. Turkish firefighters quickly arrived on the scene and put out the fire.
Azimuth Airlines has still not contacted passengers or offered assistance.
