Cyberrataki, increasingly conducted by interviews of Russia and China, cost the German economy last year EUR 289.2 billion – according to the study of the Digital Bitts Association published on Thursday. Nearly three -quarters of companies recorded an increase in the number of cyber attacks.

Of the enterprises affected by attacks, 46 percent recorded at least one Attack from Russia, and 45 percent – From China. 31 percent Cyberrataks came from Eastern Europe (outside the EU), 24 percent – from the United States, 22 percent – from other EU countries and 21 percent from Germany.

According to the deputy head of the German counterintelligence Sinana Selena, a large number of attacks also came from Iran and North Korea.

Almost three quarters (73 percent) of companies recorded an increase in the number of cyber attacks last year, and none expect their decline in the next 12 months. Over a third (35 percent) provides for their significant increase – according to the report.

In more than half (62 percent) of German companies, digital communication, such as emails or video conferences, was overheard, and two-thirds (66 percent) of enterprises lost or suspected the theft of business data. Most often, communication data, customer information, financial data, as well as intellectual property, access data and personal data of employees were stolen – we read in the study.

The participation of cyber attacks in the total losses of the German economy due to the theft of data, sabotage and industrial espionage increased from 67 to 70 percent. Compared to 2023 (PAP)
